About JSON Formatter
JSON is easy for machines to read but hard for people when it arrives on a single line. This formatter parses your JSON and prints it back with consistent indentation, so the structure is clear at a glance.
Because it actually parses the JSON, it also works as a validator. If the input has a missing comma, an extra bracket, or another syntax problem, the tool shows the error message instead of broken output.
How to Use
- Paste your JSON into the input box.
- Choose the indentation you prefer.
- Read the formatted JSON, or the error if the input is invalid.
- Click Copy to copy the clean JSON.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it validate my JSON?
Yes. The input is parsed, so any syntax error is reported with a message, which makes this a fast way to check whether JSON is valid.
Is my JSON private?
Yes. Formatting happens entirely in your browser, so your data is never uploaded or stored.
Can I minify instead of beautify?
Yes. Use the JSON Minify tool to strip whitespace and compress the JSON onto one line.
