About Base64 Decode
This decoder reverses Base64 encoding. Paste a Base64 string and it returns the original text, decoding the bytes as UTF-8 so international characters display properly.
If the input is not valid Base64, the tool shows a short error instead of a broken result, so you can spot a bad paste right away.
How to Use
- Paste the Base64 string you want to decode.
- Read the decoded text in the output box.
- Click Copy to copy the result.
- Use the Base64 Encode tool to go the other way.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I get an error message?
The input is not valid Base64. Check for missing characters, extra spaces, or text that was never Base64 to begin with.
Does it handle emoji and accents?
Yes. The decoded bytes are read as UTF-8, so emoji and accented characters are restored correctly.
Is my data private?
Yes. Decoding happens in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
