About URL Decode

Encoded URLs are full of percent signs and codes like %20 that stand in for spaces and symbols. This tool reverses that encoding so you can read the original text.

It also converts the plus sign into a space, which is how spaces are often written inside query strings, so decoded links and form values read naturally.

How to Use

  1. Paste the percent encoded text or URL.
  2. Read the decoded, readable version in the output box.
  3. Click Copy to copy the result.
  4. Use the URL Encode tool to go the other way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I get an error?

The input contains a percent sign that is not part of a valid escape code. Check the string for a stray percent sign or an incomplete code.

Does it turn plus signs into spaces?

Yes. Query strings often use a plus sign for a space, so the tool converts those to spaces before decoding.

Is my data private?

Yes. Decoding happens in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
