Most products have a handful of security holes that actually matter and a long list of things that do not. A security review finds the few that matter. I look at your application, your infrastructure, and how you handle data and access, think through how someone would actually attack it, and hand you the real exposure ranked by impact, with clear fixes.

This is a practical review aimed at reducing real risk, not a 200-page scan dump that nobody reads.

What it covers

  • How your application could actually be attacked
  • Authentication, access control, and session handling
  • How secrets, keys, and credentials are managed
  • Where sensitive data lives and how it is protected
  • Infrastructure and cloud configuration exposure
  • Third-party dependencies with known weaknesses
  • What an attacker could reach if one thing is breached
  • A ranked fix list, worst and cheapest-to-fix first

Who it’s for

  • Teams who have never had security looked at properly
  • Companies before a launch, a raise, or a big customer
  • Founders who had a scare and want to know where they really stand

What you get

  • A written security review with exposure ranked by impact
  • A clear read on the few issues that actually matter
  • A practical remediation plan with effort estimates
  • Quick wins you can close immediately
  • A walkthrough so your team knows exactly what to fix

How it works

  1. 1

    Scope

We agree what is in scope and what matters most to protect.

  2. 2

    Review

I examine the app, infrastructure, data handling, and access, under NDA.

  3. 3

    Think like an attacker

I work through how someone would realistically get in and how far they could go.

  4. 4

    Report

I rank the exposure by real impact and lay out the fixes.

  5. 5

    Walkthrough

We go through it so the important holes actually get closed.

Thinking like an attacker, reporting like an engineer

A useful security review is not a scanner dump with a thousand low-priority findings. It is a focused look at how your product would actually be attacked and how far an attacker could get, ranked by real impact. I work through the handful of issues that genuinely matter, from authentication and access control to how secrets and sensitive data are handled, and hand you fixes you can act on rather than a report that makes everyone anxious and changes nothing.

A security review finds the holes; staying secure and proving it is the security and compliance side of the work, and many of the issues trace back to decisions in the code that a code review surfaces in parallel. Done together, you fix the real exposure and then have something credible to show the customer or auditor who asked the question in the first place.

Why work with me

I’m Matt George, a fractional CTO for SMBs and early-stage startups and the founder of the venture-backed legal-tech company Injuria.ai. I have built and shipped real products end to end, from scrappy MVPs to data and AI infrastructure running in production, so the advice here comes from doing the work rather than talking about it. You get a senior technical partner with nothing to sell you, no vendor kickbacks, and a bias toward shipping.

FAQ

Is this a penetration test?

It overlaps but it is broader and more practical. I review design, code, infrastructure, and config together, not just probe a running system, so you understand the why behind each risk.

How is this different from security and compliance?

This review finds the real technical holes. The compliance work gets you certified and keeps you there. They pair well: fix the holes, then prove it.

Will you break anything?

No. This is a review, not a destructive test. If you want active exploitation, we scope and agree that carefully and separately.

What do we get at the end?

A ranked, plain-language report of your real exposure and the fixes, plus a walkthrough. Not a scanner dump nobody reads.
