About Fake Tweet Generator

This Fake Tweet Generator builds a realistic tweet[1], the short post format from the platform now called X. You set the name, handle, verified badge, text, and the reply, repost, like, and view counts, and the card updates the moment you type. When it looks right, you can download it as a JPG, either with padding for sharing or cropped tight to the card. There is no signup and no watermark.

A post is a small unit of microblogging[2]: a short message, an @ handle, and a few engagement counts. This generator colors hashtags[3] and mentions the way the app does, and it reproduces the reply, repost, and like[4] row along with the view count. You can also add the verified[5] check, in blue, gold, or gray, to match an individual, a business, or a government account.

The service launched in 2006 as Twitter[6] and was rebranded to X after Elon Musk's 2022 acquisition[7], which is why people still say both tweet and post. The company behind it is now X Corp.[8] This tool reproduces the current card layout, with the three themes the app offers: default light, dim, and lights out.

Everything runs locally in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored, so your draft never leaves your device. A fake tweet is handy for design mockups, memes, slides, thumbnails, and screenshots of a post you are drafting, but please use it honestly. It is a storytelling and design tool, not a way to put words in a real person's mouth or pass a mockup off as a genuine post.

How to Use

  1. Set the display name, the handle, and choose a verified badge, or none.
  2. Write the tweet text. Mentions, hashtags, and links are colored automatically.
  3. Set the timestamp and the reply, repost, like, and view counts (you can type values like 1.2K).
  4. Pick the theme: default light, dim, or lights out.
  5. Click Preview and Download, choose the padded share image or a tight crop, and save the JPG.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this fake tweet generator free?

Yes. It is completely free with no signup, no account, and no watermark. You can make as many fake tweets and X posts as you want and download each one as a JPG.

How do I make a fake tweet?

Set the display name and handle, add a verified badge if you want one, type the tweet text, then set the timestamp and the reply, repost, like, and view counts. The card updates live, and the Preview and Download button saves it as a JPG.

Can I add the blue verified check?

Yes. You can add a verified badge in blue, gold, or gray, matching the badges X uses for individuals, businesses, and government or official accounts, or turn it off entirely.

Does it work for X posts, not just old tweets?

Yes. Twitter was rebranded to X, and this tool reproduces the current X card, so a tweet and an X post are the same thing here. You can switch between the light, dim, and lights out themes.

Can I set the like and view counts?

Yes. The reply, repost, like, and view counts are all editable, and you can type formatted values like 1.2K or 3.4M so the numbers look realistic.

Can I download just the card without padding?

Yes. In the download dialog you can pick the padded share image, which adds margin around the post, or the tight crop, which is just the card cropped to its content.

Is my post private?

Yes. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored. The entire generator runs locally in your browser, so your draft never leaves your device.
