About Text Sorter
Paste a list with one item per line and this tool sorts the lines into alphabetical order. It uses natural ordering, so numbers inside the text sort the way a person would expect.
You can flip to reverse order, strip duplicate lines, ignore upper and lower case while sorting, and trim stray spaces from the start and end of each line.
How to Use
- Paste your list with one entry per line.
- Choose A to Z or Z to A order.
- Turn on remove duplicates or ignore case if you need them.
- Copy the sorted list from the output box.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can it remove duplicate lines while it sorts?
Yes. Turn on remove duplicates and each line is kept only once, which pairs well with ignore case for a clean deduplicated list.
How are numbers handled?
Sorting uses natural numeric ordering, so item 2 comes before item 10 instead of after it.
Is my list private?
Yes. Sorting happens locally in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
