About Add Text to Image
This tool puts a text caption on top of an image. You choose the text, its color, an optional outline, the font, and the size, then drag the text to exactly where you want it. The preview is drawn on an HTML canvas, and the file you download is rendered the same way at your photo’s full original resolution, so what you see is what you get.
It is built for quick jobs: a meme, a label on a screenshot, a caption for social, or a title over a photo. There is no account, no watermark, and no editing software to learn.
How to Use
- Drop in or choose a photo.
- Type your caption in the text box. Press Enter for a second line.
- Pick a text color, turn the outline on or off, and choose a font and size.
- Drag the text on the image to place it, or use the Top, Middle, and Bottom buttons.
- Choose PNG, JPG, or WebP and press Download.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is loaded and edited entirely in your browser using an HTML canvas, and it never leaves your device.
Why does the download look sharper than the preview?
The preview is scaled down to fit your screen, but the download is rendered at your photo’s full original resolution, so the exported text is crisp.
Can I add more than one line?
Yes. Press Enter inside the text box to add another line. The whole block moves together when you drag it.
Which font gives the classic meme look?
Impact with a black outline is the traditional meme style, and it is the default. You can also switch to a sans serif, serif, or monospace font.
