Some Interview Q&As
What are your strengths?
I have two primary fortés.
First, I consider myself to be a creature of adaptation. If I identify a gap in my professional skillset, I am quick to bridge it. I’m a fast learner and relish the idea of taking a weekend watching tutorial videos on YouTube.
Second, I’m not afraid to share ideas that are creative in my eyes but a little extra in the eyes of others. This second trait is the precise reason why I didn’t enjoy my job as a project manager at Epic. There was absolutely no room for out-of-the-box thinking.
Do you work well under pressure?
Why as a matter of fact I do work well under pressure.
Sometimes there are things that happen out of our control that put us in very…uncertain conditions. While I don’t necessarily invite such conditions, I do embrace it.
Ask me about the time we almost scored a contract with the MTA and ended up doing 2 weeks of worth of work in two days to show how agile a startup could be.
Why do you have two first names?
Oof, excellent question.
To be privy to the reason (and yes, there is a perfectly good explanation for it), you’re going to have to invite me for an interview.
Consider this the interview-equivalent equivalent of a lead magnet.
What is your biggest weakness?
My greatest weakness is that I’m perfectionist.
Just kidding.
Jokes aside, here are some of my weaknesses:
• I cannot multitask well. I am a classic male archetype in this regard.
• When dealing with clients, I do have the tendancy to slightly overpromise. Slightly.
• As a night owl, my charismatic attitude won’t be as perceivable during early AM meetings.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
Great question!
As it pertains to my professional career, I would say that I’m most proud of the fact that I A) recognized that digital marketing was my passion, B) quit my steady job at Epic in pursuit of my new-found passion, C) spent the next 6 months studying and experimenting with internet marketing, and then, D) landing my first growth marketing job that on paper required 3 years of prior experience.
